Exercise 'Skiver Claw'
In order for the Fire service to get a
realistic appreciation
of the various environments that may be encountered
during real incidents, opportunities arise for training exercises to be carried
out at locations that can be used to simulate incidents that may involve
rescuing casualties from multi occupied premises such as sheltered
dwellings for the elderly and infirm. One such location became available in Crowle
recently.
The scenario involved an outbreak of fire, persons reported, danger of falling rubble and aviation fuel due to an impact of an aircraft.
Two retained pumps was involved D4-1 and D5-1. The exercise was as near to reality as possible without loss of life and damage to property.
