We never really know what we will be attending when our Alerters sound
sometimes we get very tragic jobs with loss of life and property all require a
good deal of skill and planning for a rescue to be successful. On December 3rd 2002 we received a call to rescue a horse that was trapped in a drain alongside the A18 Crowle to Doncaster old road. Two appliances where mobilized D4 Crowle and D1 Scunthorpe Blue watch. This incident is typical of what we experience in rural areas we treat animals large or small with the same respect as a human. The rescue was a complete success the horse and owner was very grateful, to which a recommendation was made for a Commendation from the RSPCA. On 30th May 2003 both Crowle and Scunthorpe Blue watch received certificates of commendation presented by Alan John from the RSPCA at the Crowle Fire Station.
